Lederhosen: Oktoberfest at Urban Food Festival
For a long time now, Urban Food Fest has been on our radar as the place to be for foodies. A night market in the midst of super-cool Shoreditch, we can’t wait for the chance to get down there. And, what should fly into our inbox yesterday but the perfect excuse – they’re throwing an Oktoberfest-themed party!
Never one to do anything by halves, Urban Food Fest is going all out on the 28th September with food, drink and music all from Germany. You can expect schnitzel and sauerkraut, Frankfurter hot dogs, steak sandwiches, kaspressknoedel and many more mains. Sweet treats like sachertorte and Oktoberfest-themed cakes (yeah, we’re intrigued by that too…) will also be available, alongside classic German beers and litres of Jagermeister.
If the promise of all that food hasn’t been enough to whet your appetite, the promise of live music and the whole Urban Food Fest team speaking fluent German should be enough to persuade you that this really is going to be the hottest Oktoberfest celebration that September will see!
Still not convinced? Okay, there’s the opportunity to dress up as well; the traders and staff will all be sporting dirndls and lederhosen and they’re keen for attendees to get in on the fancy dress action. So keen in fact, that they’re giving away a magnum of champagne for the best outfit – as if you needed another excuse! C’mon, anything goes in Shoreditch!
