Urban Food Fest:
When was it that Londoners decided we liked eating standing up? Probably about the same time that we discovered that there were dozens of food trucks, stands and carts out there who could serve us food that made our Instagram reflex itch and our taste buds do a celebratory Mexican wave. Urban Food Fest will be gathering a load of the best of them this Saturday for the first of a Summer series in Shoreditch that runs until June. Eat niche but delicious cuisines, treat yourself to a fat-ridden food trend and drink lashings of craft beer. If you do all that in a Where’s Wally outfit, you might even win a prize, and since Wally is a classic accidental hipster, you can style it out wherever you head to afterwards.

So you want to master the perfect pancake-toss technique? While such things may be found on YouTube (even the robots are having a go) nothing beats watching the professionals in action to really get it down. This Shrove Tuesday, gather your pancake-loving friends together and head over to Phipp Street, where Urban Food Fest and Lyle’s Golden Syrup are bringing London its very own Pancake Festival. You can expect to find a bunch of food stalls and vans all serving up a whole host of free pancakes complete with tasty toppings – but hurry, it’ll be a flipping feeding frenzy!
