London’s best street-food markets
Sweetly positioned across the road from the Ace Hotel, this market is great for a pre- or even post-Shoreditch pub crawl as it’s open until midnight and has a weekly changing selection of stalls. The ones to look out for are the pulled pork- top chef Tom Kerridge is a fan of the towering meaty sandwich in a fig-and-vanilla bun, for which a tower of napkins is also required to clean sticky fingers – and the toasties, including a mean mushroom-stuffed grilled cheese sandwich. The perky bar staff serve bottles of Prosecco and Vedett Belgian beers, and musicians strum guitars to create a laid-back vibe.
